Lake Sammamish Girls Lacrosse Board

Board members are elected for a two year term, with exclusion of the At-large members who are elected for a one year term. Committee members are appointed by the board of directors.

The Board meets once a month from September till June.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

President:

Preside at all Board meetings and is responsible for the general management of the organization in compliance with our By-Laws. Coordinates strategic planning and goal setting process.

The President will be the primary contact for all Lake Samm Girls Lacrosse activities including, but not limited to: WSLA, program development, coaching, field use, etc.

(only votes in case of a tie)

 

Vice President High school:

Responsible for the management and coordination of all aspects of their program in accordance of the goals and philosophies as determined by the Board. 

Responsible for the coordination of Varsity and JV team schedules and scheduling of Lake Samm fields for those games.  Will communicate with league scheduler regarding availability and changes.

Recruits and retains coaches to create a cohesive and effective coaching staff that understands the goals of Lake Samm. Works with the director of coaching to insure proper training and credentials of coaches.

 

Vice President Youth:

Responsible for the management and coordination of all aspects of their program in accordance of the goals and philosophies as determined by the Board. 

Responsible for the coordination of all Youth teams (incl. 2nd grade program) schedules and scheduling of Lake Samm fields for those games. Will communicate with league scheduler regarding availability and changes.

Recruits and retains coaches to create a cohesive and effective coaching staff that understands the goals of Lake Samm. Works with the director of coaching to insure proper training and credentials of coaches.

 

Secretary: 

Shall keep an accurate record of all meetings; and shall give notice of the time and place of all meetings. Will compose a seasonÕs calendar with action and due dates.

Responsible for answering or delegate all incoming email and send out communications to all members and potential members. Checks P.O. box regularly. Maintains annual club calendar. Keeps hard and soft copies on file of the clubs minutes, By-Laws and any other historical documents.

Works with At-large members to compile team binders and assists PR & Communications director with distribution of emails.

 

Treasurer:

Provides financial management for the club, manages the clubÕs accounts, receives funds and makes payments. Produces financial statements for monthly meetings and as requested. Responsible for legal and regulatory compliance.

 

This position is also responsible for coordinating with the VPÕs to ensure that all registration, insurance and US Lacrosse membership information are accurate and up to date. 

Serves as chair of Scholarship committee.

 

Registrar: 

Responsible for managing all aspects of registration, including by not limited to establishing registration timelines and policies, data entry of all registration information and collection of registration funds to be turned over to Treasurer.  Coordinates waiver requests with in Lake Samm program and handle all requests for refunds.

Registers the teams with WSLA and WAGLAX.

 

High School At-Large member: 

Player/member advocate for HS program. Works with coach liaison in coordinating coaches trainings. Assembles Team binder for coaches. Coordinates participation in various jamborees and assists with uniform distribution. (one year term)

 

Youth At-Large member: 

Player/member advocate for Youth program. Works with coach liaison in coordinating coaches trainings. Assembles Team binder for coaches. Coordinates participation in various jamborees and assists with uniform distribution. (one year term)

 

Communication & Public Relations:

Works to increase community awareness of our program. Works with registrar and secretary to promote info nights and clinics to the public. Initiate promotional events.

Coordinates press releases and coverage of lacrosse games.

 

Director of Coaching:

Assists VPÕs in finding potential coaches to the board. As needed, the director provides feedback to the coaches. He will plan, staff and oversee the coaches clinic and will prepare, publish and educate new coaches on the Lake Samm standards of professional conduct.
           

Equipment Manager:

Keeps storage in good order and keeps track of inventory. Reviews uniform and equipment requirements with coaches, distributes equipment at beginning of season, replenishes as needed during the season and works with coach/team parent to collect all equipment at end of season.

 

Uniforms & Spirit wear:

Keeps inventory, orders new or replacement uniforms and is responsible for distribution and collection of uniforms. Works with vendors for pricing and sales of spirit wear in online shop.

 

Fields Manager:  

Manages field volunteers and ensures that fields get properly laid out and lined, maintains lines and field conditions throughout the season.

 

Website Manager: 

Responsible for updating and maintenance of the Lake Samm Lacrosse website which includes:

publish all communications that has been distributed via e-mails. Update and maintain all information that is related to our homepage, the Club Calendar, Team Pages which includes the Create and maintain login security for the Team Administrators. To be available as backup for the distribution of e-mails. Work closely with the registrar and assist when necessary.
