Skaters who are not actively involved with group lessons but take private lessons may also enter events. All skaters have the option to enter events based on the level they have passed or the current level they are working on, but not both levels. Skaters will be broken into groups of approximately six (6) skaters. Adults may register for any of the Basic or Freeskate events and will be grouped in an adult category if numbers allow. Skaters who have passed any US Figure Skating tests higher than the Preliminary Moves in the Field and Freestyle are ineligible for this competition. Entries and Fees: All entries must be postmarked no later than midnight, August 15, 2007. Late entries will be accepted only if space permits, at the discretion of the competition director. Late entry fees will be $40.00 per event. Entry fees are per person. No family discounts will be offered. The first event is $30.00 and each additional event is $10.00. No refunds after the deadline unless the competition is canceled by IceForum. Entry forms must be filled out completely and returned with payment. Awards: All events will be final rounds. Medals will be awarded to first, second, and third places. All other places will receive ribbons or certificates. There will be an Artistic Trophy Awarded to one skater per level who achieves the highest artistic mark. Artistic Award will be based on artistic mark from the program with music event only. All awards will be posted and/or announced throughout the competition. Schedule of Events: Schedule of events will be posted at least 1 week prior to the competition and e-mailed to you. Questions should be directed to the Skating School coordinators. The competition is tentatively planned to run from 10:00am-7:00pm Music: The music for each event must be provided on a CD or cassette tape by the skater. The coach or parent accompanying the skater during the event should keep back up copies of music. CDs and tapes should be clearly marked with the name of the skater, age, event entered and length of music. Competition copies should be turned in at the time of registration, at least one hour before the event time. All tapes must be rewound. Video Taping: There will be a professional videographer at this competition. Only battery operated video cameras will be permitted. Parents will not be allowed to stand in the doorway or hockey boxes to video. Guidelines Skaters at all levels may choose to enter an event based on their current class level or they may choose to enter an event at the last level they have passed. Skaters do not have to have a private instructor to enter events however, Skating school coordinators must sign applications to insure all information is correct and events entered are appropriate. Skaters must adhere to the required elements for each event. Elements included from a higher level will result in a deduction. No Axels are permitted.
