The Biomedical Associations of Wisconsin scholarship has been established to encourage the continued growth of the biomedical field.  

Purpose:  To provide scholarship assistance to qualified applicants for the studies in the Biomedical or Clinical engineering field.

BENEFICIARIES:  Individuals who wish to start or further a career in biomedical technologies and clinical engineering. Preferences will be given to BAW members and their families.

Scholarship Award: The award shall be set at $500.00, with the BAW board to review annually. 

Selection committee: Committee headed by a current BAW Member and consist of a total of four members. Committee Head will report activities to the current BAW President on a regular basis. 

Selection Process: Committee will evaluate candidates based on grade point average, accomplishments both personal and professional. Awards based on combination of financial need and educational program.

Number of Scholarships: At least One scholarship per year to be awarded at the Annual Seminar. Funds permitting and at the recommendation of the Scholarship committee and approval from the BAW board additional Scholarships may be awarded.

Presentation Date: Award to be given during the annual seminar.

Application deadline: Applications must be postmarked by August 31st.

Qualifications: Award will be given to a recipient enrolled into a post high school coarse. The coarse curriculum must be of a biomedical or clinical engineering nature. Studies must be in programs which earn college credits from an accredited school.

Eligibility: High School GPA of 3.0, or individuals currently active in field wishing to further their education. United States Citizenship.

Goal: The goal of the scholarship is to increase the level of qualified Biomedical personal , while raising the level of awareness to the general public. A secondary goal is to promote the Biomedical field to High School aged individuals.

Funding: Corporate sponsors and proceeds from annual seminars. A separate line item in the Treasures report will inform BAW members of the status of the fund. Regional chapters will be encouraged to promote the fund and contribute as they see fit. In the event funds are not present at time of annual seminar the BAW board will determine if funds can be reallocated or if the scholarship should not be presented for the current year.
