The Brookline-Wilton 12U All-Star Team captured the Cal Ripken District 2 championship title last Saturday night, beating top-ranked Nashua West by a score of 6-2 on the Nashua team’s home field, and marking the 2nd year in a row that the BW 12U All-Stars took that title.  After a lackluster 1-2 start in the round-robin tournament, Brookline-Wilton advanced to the playoffs by tie breaker. The team went on to defeat Nashua South on Friday after both teams posted 4-run innings to end up tied at 6-6 after 6. In the top of the 7th, Brookline-Wilton tacked on 4 runs - enough to close the game on top (10-7).  In addition to the two Nashua teams, the District 2 tournament also included All-Star teams from Hollis, Amherst, Milford, Kearsarge Mountain South, and Merrimack.
