2006 9-10 Year Old Select Team
 

The NSLL 9/10 All Stars had a fantastic summer and played 20 games in the span of a month. The younger of NSLL’s two 9/10 teams (named North Stamford East), comprised of mostly 9 year olds, won a game against Darien in the Little League District Tournament before playing in the WBA (Westchester Baseball Association) for the balance of the summer.  We fared well against teams from City Island, Pelham, Rye, Port Chester, Dobbs Ferry and Stamford’s own National Lione. The boys did great as they played .500 baseball against mainly 10 year old teams and were eliminated in the quarter finals of the playoffs.

This was the second year many of the players had been together and really gained a lot of experience, after winning the Stamford Summer Tournament last year as 8 year olds. By the end of the summer, the boys had really come together as a team and showed tremendous dedication, attitude and an obvious love of baseball!  I know that these boys will continually make their parents as proud of them as I am to say that I was a part of this team.
