Programs – Senior Travel – Info
The
purpose of the Simsbury Soccer Club’s Senior Travel program is to provide an
outlet for high school aged players to enjoy soccer in the Spring along with
their scholastic sports and other activities. While the time commitment
is less demanding than youth travel, it is intended for those players that are
willing to make the effort to attend regularly. To qualify for senior
soccer, players must be in good standing with the Simsbury Soccer Club and
CJSA, in grades 9 through 12, live in Simsbury (non-residents are considered on
a case by case basis), have the desire to play, and the commitment to attend as
many practices and games as possible.
The
season will consist of one practice per week, league and friendly games on weekends,
and Connecticut Cup play. The season begins in late April and runs into
mid-June. Players will be placed according to age, on a FIRST COME, FIRST
SERVED BASIS. The number and composition of teams will be based on the
number of applications received.
COST
WILL BE $100 PER PLAYER*. PROOF OF AGE WILL BE REQUIRED.
* We
expect each team to have volunteer coaches. If a paid coach is hired for
your team, coaching fees (approximately $100/player) will be charged in
addition. If a team decides to attend a tournament, any fees for the
tournament will also be an additional cost to be paid by the team.
