PEMBROKE YOUTH SOCCER

ATTENDEES: Dave Carter, John Trudeau, Lisa Stoyle, Bill Tholen, Fran Squatrito, Paul Allen, David Ng, Deb Bostwick, Jim Campbell, Cathy Quigg, Mike Cavalear, Marty Ford, Colleen Wainwright, Bill Keeler.

TREASURER'S REPORT: Lisa Stoyle reported that we have received $2,830 from World Cup Soccer Camp, $4,550 from sponsors. We have about $121,000 in the bank of which about $47,000 is in checking. CD for $70,000 matures on 9/23. We are spending about $30,000 per year on field maintenance. Report ACCEPTED.

COASTAL REPORT: Fran Squatrito reported that Coastal U12 format in the spring will be 8v8 for all teams. Considering whether U10s should move to 6v6. Want to decide by November. Reminder we need to CORI all adults, even board members who do not coach. Initial rosters will be due in December. Coastal fees will stay the same ($75 for U10s / $90 for U12s). Mike Paolella is the new area Referee Administrator. Lancaster fields ready for 2008 MTOC. MTOC at Amherst for 2007. Will be new rules for forfeits - not ready yet.

SECRETARY'S REPORT: Notes from the August 2006 meeting were reviewed. Report ACCEPTED.

REGISTRAR'S REPORT: Ann not present. BU12 has room.

OLD BUSINESS:

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS: Tabled. Still need to discuss some items with assistant superintendent of schools.

[players name removed] RULING: Regarding [players name removed] playing down from U14s to U12s in the spring, Fran reported that Coastal said team would not be eligible for MTOCs. Potential liability issues. Dave Coutts at Coastal will talk to Mass Youth Soccer.

TEAM SPONSORS: Have about $5,000 from team sponsors. Issues of pictures. Will take team pictures of U12 and U14 teams in the fall for sponsor purposes. Team sponsor task needs a committee.

COACHING ED. REPORT: Saturday, November 4th for Skills Patch Level 1 evaluation. Brendon Boates will do clinic for BU12 players on 10/23. John Trudeau will ask about whether he is available/interested in doing one for the girls on the 30th.

REFEREE REPORT: Had a few issues the first week. Board members to attend games of teams with previous issues. We need to keep parents on opposite side of field from coaches (U10 and up) and away from team area for U6s/U7s/U8s.

NEW BUSINESS:

SPRNG SELECT COACHES: Voted for the following coached for the 2007 Spring Select Teams: GU12 - no candidates… will continue looking for coaches. BU12 - Mike Cavalear (only candidate) GU14 - John Trudeau (only candidate) BU14 - Dave Carter (only candidate)

Will field one Select Team in each age group.

PLAY UP/DOWN ISSUES: Question about if a BU10 could play up on BU12 team. Answer - NO. Question about whether timid players can play down if they are grade appropriate. Mass Youth Soccer rules say NO. Our by-laws only allow it in the case of medical issues.

COW BINGO: Cow Bingo fundraiser for scholarships will be November 4th.
