PEMBROKE YOUTH SOCCER

SECRETARY'S REPORT: Notes from September 2005 meeting were accepted and put on file.
U12 FORMAT: Discussed possible move to 8 v 8 format in U12s. Scituate, Norwell, Marshfield, and Hignham expected to be playing 11 v 11. Duxbury, Plymouth, Kingston, Hull, Middleboro, Sacred Heart will be playing 8 v 8. Cohasset and Hanover expected to play 11 v 11 in Div 1, and 8 v 8 in other divisions.
MOTION: Field all 8 v 8 teams at U12. PASSED.
It was also decided that the Boys U12 Select team will have 15 players with the coach getting 3 discretionary picks. The Girks U12 Select team would have 14 players with 3 discretionary picks.
COW BINGO: Cow Bingo is scheduled for Saturday, October 28th at Noon. Squares will cost $5. Location still needs to be determined. Discussed having it near snack bar. Cathy Quigg has the Bingo forms and Mike Cavalear made some very nice promotional posters. There will be some popcorn machines and others but we have strict instructions that no children are to operate them. May need some generators.
TREASURER'S REPORT: Lisa Stoyle provided a written Treasurer's report. Highlights: Just over $10,000 in checking account. Received check for $900 from Pembroke High School for line painting. Treasurer's report was accepted.
REGISTRAR'S REPORT: Ann Shea reported that we have 931 players registered for the fall. No players currently on wait list. No word from Mass Youth Soccer regarding who has completed CORI forms. Player fee increased to $11 per player, retroactively, to cover funding for Mass Youth Soccer field complex.
COACHING ED. REPORT: Bill Tholen reported that Dean Schneider is scheduled to provide two coaches clinics at the end of October. Bill relayed information from Mass Premier Soccer regarding the camps, player training, coach training, and other services that they offer. Bill will respond that we are currently all set.
COASTAL REPORT: Seeding of teams to be completed by December Coastal meeting. Need PYS officers for Coastal book. Need check for spring teams - no change in fees. Season will run from first Saturday in April. Will need to play 10 games in 9 weeks. Coastal wants fees for forfeits, no-shows, etc.
REFEREE REPORT: Mary was not present. David Ng was present and he confirmed he is still interested in the position.
PLAY DOWN ISSUE: Someone has requested in advance for fall 2006/spring 2007 that they be allowed to play down. It involves a travel team aged player. This is actually an old request and it is felt that a doctor's note would be helpful but none has been provided.
SPRING U10 TEAMS: We are expecting to reduce the number of U10 teams to 7 for the spring (eliminating one team) in both the boys and girls divisions. We typically have issues of not enough players in the spring.
BLEACHERS: There are still people using the bleachers on field
# 3 even though they are closed. Dave said that if we can't get the repairs done
by the start of the spring season, we should remove the bleachers.
