PEMBROKE YOUTH SOCCER

ATTENDEES: Dave Carter, John Trudeau, Ann Shea, Bill Tholen, Cathi Quigg, Paul Allen, Mike Cavalear, Dan Sullivan, Jim Campbell, Karen Gray, Deb Bostwick, David Ng, Chris Barrett, Bill Keeler, Fran Squatrito, Mary Sullivan, Colleen Wainwright, Lonnie Gillis, Mame Kell, Jeff Craig.

TREASURER'S REPORT: Lisa Stoyle provided a written Treasurer's report. We have opened a three month CD with $60,000. Treasurer's report was accepted.

SECRETARY'S REPORT: Notes from August 2005 meeting were accepted and put on file.

FALL UNIFORMS: In U7, need to get more uniforms size medium.

REGISTRAR'S REPORT: Ann Shea reported that we have 912 players registered for the fall. We have a waiting list in U7s with 4 players.

COACHING ED. REPORT: Bill Tholen reported that coordinators received the following to provide to coaches: Mass Youth Soccer Curriculum covering U6 through U12, Novice Coach DVD from US Youth Soccer (U10 and younger age groups only), Juggling Club sample form. Bill Is working with Dean Schneider to get coaches some additional training. Informal poll shows Saturday starting at 4PM is the preferred time for coaches training during the season. All coaches need to complete a new KidSafe/CORI form and submit to MYSA.

COASTAL REPORT: Discussion of U12 playing format. Coastal and MTOC tournament will support 8v8 as well as 11v11. Deferred vote to next meeting so we could find out what other towns are doing.

REFEREE REPORT: Color blind refs are not able to see the red lines on the green grass.

NEW BUSINESS:

SELECT TEAM COACHES: Candidates for Select Team coaches made their presentations. Candidates were: GU12 - Jeff Craig, Mame Kell, Chris Barrett. BU12 - Bill Cullity, Mike Cavalear. GU14 - John Trudeau. BU14 - Dave Carter. Bill Cullity was not present so Dave Carter read a statement Bill had previously prepared. There were 16 board members present for voting. In groups that had more than one candidate, the board discussed qualifications of each candidate and voted on coaches one age group at a time with the following results.

VOTED: GU12 - Mame Kell. BU12 - Mike Cavalear. GU14 - John Trudeau. BU14 - Dave Carter.

PARKING ISSUES: People continue to park carelessly. Bill Keeler proposed getting construction barrels to help mark off parking boundaries.

MOTION: Order 25 used construction barrels at a cost of $10 each. PASSED.

FIELD MAINTENANCE: Bill Keeler made a proposal to do an aeration and some seeding this fall. Estimated the cost at $750 for the aeration and $150 for grass seed. Also discussed issue of golfers doing damage to fields and leaving behind golf balls.

MOTION: Allot $1,000 for fall field maintenance per Bill Keeler's proposal. PASSED.

MOTION: Get No Golfing signs. PASSED.

COW BINGO: The Cow Bingo fundraiser which funds the PYS Scholarships is set for October 29th. We can expect the cow to be "more regular" so we should be able to get a winner in a reasonable amount of time.
