Minutes of November 16, 2009 Board Meeting
1075: The Board
meeting of the Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association was held Monday,
November 16, at 6:30pm at the offices of Vern Smith 110-110th NE, Bellevue,
WA. Present were Vern Smith, Brandon
Fortier, Ryan Kelly, Ian O’Hearn and Daniela Colter.
Present by teleconference were Peter White, Rob Hawley, and Kevin Martin.
1076: Daniela presented the 2010 budget. The
budget reflected two changes: the Public Relations expense remains the same as
last season at $3,000 and a new expense for $500 for WALOA bonuses.
1077: The
Coaches Packet was reviewed and approved. It will be sent to the programs the
week after Thanksgiving. The registration fee invoice will be sent to the
programs at the beginning of January.
1078: There was
a discussion concerning Liberty Lacrosse Club’s request to practice early. Vern
will contact LLC.
MOTION: The Board approves Liberty Lacrosse Club’s
request to practice early because the most of the players are inexperienced.
Motion passed 7-0.
1079: There was
a discussion concerning Lake Washington Lacrosse Club’s request to practice
early. Vern will contact LWLC.
MOTION: The Board denies LWLC’s
request to practice early because a majority of the players are experienced.
Motion passed 7-0.
1080: Negotiations
continue with WALOA.
1081: There was
a discussion regarding WALOA’s request to be added to
WHSBLA’s distribution list when sending memos or
letters to the membership.
MOTION:
The Board accepts WALOA’s
request to be added to the distribution list. Motion passed 7-0.
1082: Peter
will contact Rick Jenness regarding an e-mail RIck sent on October 16, 2009 to see if the board answered
his concerns.
1083: JC de Raoulx’s request to encourage members to purchase blue
ribbons for players’ helmets to promote prostrate cancer awareness has been
tabled until the next board meeting.
1084: There was
a discussion regarding Bainbridge Island Lacrosse Club’s letter dated Oct 22,
2009. A representative from BI was invited to the meeting however, no one
attended. Vern will send a letter summarizing the discussion to them.
1085: The next Board meeting will be held on
December 14, 2009 at IHS in Brandon Fortier’s classroom.
1086: There being no
further business the meeting adjourned at 7:35pm.
