The mission of our organization is to develop the hockey skills of your children to allow their talents and abilities to flourish and become the best that they can be. We believe that the establishment of the Tier I system will provide an opportunity for youth hockey programs around the state to grow the great game of hockey by providing a framework that allows each program to develop players from beginner and house league through travel at an appropriate level of competition, making the game fun for all. We thank the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Hockey Conference for their overwhelming support for this long-overdue initiative. Tier I was created by USA Hockey, the games governing body, to provide a level of competition that would bring together the most skilled and highly motivated players at each age level across the United States. Providing a separate tier for Connecticuts best teams to compete with each other is consistent with the overall goal of providing the players who choose to participate with the same experience and fun other competitive programs enjoy in every other state in New England and throughout the United States. Tier I programs meet the growing demand for a place where motivated players whose primary passion is ice hockey to get the benefits of instruction from experienced coaches who teach skills at the highest level. Furthermore, the creation of Tier I will allow the programs who have chosen to remain in Tier II to become more competitive with similar mid-level programs, whose emphasis is primarily to encourage participation in hockey for players in their local communities with less interest in developing those children who aspire to excellence. The dual tier system alleviates the inequities inherent in maintaining a structure where programs with these differing philosophies were lumped together. Having separate tiers, each with the ability for teams to participate in regional and national championships on their respective levels, is a winning situation for all of Connecticuts youth hockey programs. MFYHA is proud to lead the way in the continuing growth of our great sport among all communities around our state. Its our hope that all of our Connecticut hockey community will embrace this new structure for the good of players of all ages and abilities. 7BhNh6 ^$a$ ,1h/ =!"#$% @@@ NormalCJ_HaJmH sH tH DAD Default Paragraph FontViV Table Normal :V 44 la (k(No List y0y0y0y0y0y0y0y0y0y0y0y0y0 % xjB?88^8`OJPJQJ^Jo(-^`OJQJ^Jo(hHo ^ `OJQJo(hH ^ `OJQJo(hHxx^x`OJQJ^Jo(hHoHH^H`OJQJo(hH^`OJQJo(hH^`OJQJ^Jo(hHo^`OJQJo(hHxjXD% a@N6@4)D P@UnknownGz Times New Roman5Symbol3& z Arial?5 z Courier New;Wingdings"ho%o%sEsE r4d 2QHP?N2 Tier 1 Notes Kieran Lyonsoplinwf Oh+'0| 8 D P\dltTier 1 NotesKieran LyonsNormaloplinwf2Microsoft Office Word@@_@_sE՜.+,0 hp Lyons Financial Consulting Tier 1 Notes Title !"#$&'()*+,/Root Entry Fp[_1Data 1TableWordDocument.SummaryInformation(DocumentSummaryInformation8%CompObjq FMicrosoft Office Word Document MSWordDocWord.Document.89q
